Francisco accomplished a diploma in Chemical Engineering in 1986 at the Federico Santamaria Technical University in Valvaraiso, Chili. Then, he worked in the field of qualitity control in Aguasin in Santiago de Chili, Chili. Then he moved to Switzerland to work in R&D in organic chemistry at Sochinaz in Vionnaz. In 1989 he started in the MS field as responsible of the platform in the Organic Chemistry institute (ICO) in the UNIL. Since 2002, Francisco is working in the Mass Spectrometry Facility of the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC) in the EPFL as specialist technician.
